Victorious Party Supplies – The Background

Victorious Party Supplies are based on Victorious, an American TV series created for Nickelodeon by Dan Schneider. The main character of the sitcom is Tori Vega, an aspiring singer. The character of Tori is portrayed by Victoria Justice. The series premiered on 27th March, 2010.

The show revolves around the character of Tori Vega. She is half Latina and is 16 years old. She knows Spanish. She is accepted into a performing arts high school called Hollywood Arts. Previously, she attended Sherwood High. Her older sister is Trina who was about to perform for Hollywood Arts’ big showcase. She used to help her sister for the performance, and while doing so, she befriends André Harris, her sister’s partner. Soon, he becomes her best friend.

On the day of the performance, Trina’s tongue becomes swollen due to an allergic reaction to a Chinese herb gargle. Tori is asked to take her place. Tori is nervous, but she performs the show’s theme song. The principal of Hollywood Arts High School is impressed with Tori’s talent. He offers her a chance to attend Hollywood Arts. She accepts the offer.

Initially, Tori feels that she is out of place at Hollywood Arts. But she quickly starts making friends. Now she feels more comfortable at the school. In the early episodes of the series, she has some difficult moments with Jade West. But she tries her best to win her friendship and succeeds at last.

Tori has type O-negative blood and is allergic to Bush Daisies. She is always ready to help her friends no matter what. She gives three pints of her blood to Robbie in the hospital and now, she is called as Robbie’s “blood angel. She cares for her family and friends a lot. She is responsible, creative, friendly and caring. But sometimes she can be vindictive and sneaky. Sometimes she is ready to manipulate her family and friends.

André Harris (portrayed by Leon Thomas III) is Tori’s best friend. He is a musically gifted guy and is an aspiring musician. He takes his music seriously and loves to perform. Although he is able to play many instruments, he prefers to play the keyboard/piano. He plays it at all of Tori’s performances. He is also a songwriter and a wonderful singer. Every song that Tori has sung has been co-written by him. Sometimes he can be easily distracted. He is kind as well as witty. He loves to make jokes, but no one finds them humorous. He is always there for Tori.

Robert “Robbie” Shapiro (portrayed by Matt Bennett) is Tori’s friend from Hollywood Arts. He speaks with Rex Powers, a puppet. But he always tells people that Rex isn’t a puppet. He had Rex since he was a little kid. He hates Andy Samberg but is often mistaken for him. Jade often makes fun of him. He is shy, nerdy and socially awkward. He can easily become infatuated by any girl who gives him attention. Robert doesn’t understand women and relationships and he doesn’t know how to attract women. He often seeks permission of his friends to watch their dates, so that he may get some experience about romantic relationships. A girl had made him swallow his toy car when he was 7 which led leads to a stomach problem when he was 17. He had to undergo a surgery.

Jade West (portrayed by Elizabeth Gillies) is Beck Oliver’s girlfriend. She is a mean, rude and sarcastic girl. She finds joy in causing others pain. She is portrayed as hateful, cruel and negative. She is extremely possessive of Beck and gets jealous when she sees Beck with other girls.

Cat Valentine (portrayed by Ariana Grande) is another one of Tori’s friends from Hollywood Arts. She is friendly and liked by all the students. She is sweet and innocent. Normally, she does not know what is going around her. She confuses other by saying very random and strange things.

Beck Oliver (portrayed by Avan Jogia) is Jade West’s boyfriend. He is extremely handsome and girls often ask him out. This makes Jade jealous although he has been with Jade for two years. He has no secrets and even his locker at Hollywood Arts is transparent. He lives in a trailer that is parked in his parents’ driveway.

Katrina “Trina” Vega (portrayed by Daniella Monet) is Tori’s elder sister. She attends Hollywood Arts. She is quite talentless but thinks that acting and singing is her destiny. She acts like a diva and has an attitude of a celebrity.

Dan Schneider, the creator of iCarly and Victorious, had created a crossover of the two shows in the iCarly episode “iParty with Victorious.” It was aired June 11, 2011 but it is counted as an iCarly episode and not a Victorious episode.

Many celebrities have made special guest appearances on the show, including, Perez Hilton, Josh Peck, Kesha, and Jerry Trainor.
