Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Party Supplies – The Background

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Party Supplies are based on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (also known as Ninja Turtles or TMNT), a fictional team of four turtles. These teenage anthropomorphic turtles are well trained in the art of ninjutsu. They have been trained by sensei, an anthropomorphic rat. They live in the storm sewers of New York City. Although they are isolated from the society, they battle invading aliens, overlords and petty criminals.

The characters initially appeared in comic books. Later they were licensed for cartoons, films, toys, video games and other merchandise. During the 1980s and 1990s, Ninja Turtles franchise was at its peak of popularity and was a worldwide success.

TMNT was created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. They were first seen in 1984 in a comic book published by Mirage Studios in Dover, New Hampshire. The concept was born during a brainstorming session between Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird when Kevin created a humorous sketch. Both were quite impressed with the concept and wanted to publish a comic book. But they had no money to do so. So, they used the money they got from their tax refund and took a loan from Kevin’s uncle and self-published a comic.

At that time (1980s), there were four comics that were most popular Frank Miller’s Ronin, Dave Sim’s Cerebus, and Marvel Comics’ Daredevil and New Mutants. The comic created by the young artists was a parody of these four comics. The comic was hit and since then it has been published by various comic book companies in different incarnations.
