Tangled Party Supplies – The Background
Tangled Party Supplies are based on Tangled, an American computer animated musical fantasy movie released in 2010. Tangled is produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and is the 50th animated feature film in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series.
Tangled features the voices of Mandy Moore, Donna Murphy and Zachary Levi. The film is loosely based on the German fairy tale “Rapunzel” by the Brothers Grimm. The original title of the movie was “Rapunzel”, but shortly before its release it was changed to “Tangled”.
Tangled was released on November 24, 2010. It was released in various formats including 3D. The production cost of Tangled is estimated at $260 million. The movie is considered to be the second most expensive movie of all time and the most expensive animated film ever made. Soon after, Tangled Party Supplies became popular among young girls.
The plot of Tangled is based on a German fairy tale. A drop of sunlight that fell on the ground grows into a flower. The flower has a magical power to heal the injured and sick. Gothel, an old woman, finds it. By singing an incantation, she uses it to keep herself young.
Many centuries later, the Queen falls ill during childbirth. The flower is located for her, and she gets well and gives birth to a daughter. The princess is named Rapunzel. She has golden hair, which is the source of the magical power now.
Gothel kidnaps Rapunzel. She keeps her in a tall tower and raises her as her own child. She leaves her hair to grow as if her hair is cut, it will lose its magical power.
In the hope that the lost princess will return, the kingdom releases thousands of sky lanterns every year, on Rapunzel’s birthday. Rapunzel wants to see the floating lights on the eve of her eighteenth birthday, but Gothel refuses.
Flynn Rider, the charismatic leader of a group of thieves, steals the tiara of the princess from the castle. During the chase, a horse named Maximus is separated from his rider, and keeps on searching for Flynn on his own.
Flynn stumbles upon Rapunzel’s tower. When he reaches inside the tower, Rapunzel knocks Flynn unconscious using a frying pan. She hides him inside her closet and retrieves the tiara.
Rapunzel requests Gothel that she wants a special paint made from white shells from a faraway beach as her birthday present. To fulfill her request, Gothel leaves on the three-day journey to bring the shells.
Rapunzel tells her that she would give him the tiara if he would take her to the “lights”. But Flynn takes her to the Snuggly Duckling inn. The inn is full of Gaul thugs. But Rapunzel charms all the thugs and encourages them to follow their dreams.
On her way, Gothel sees riderless Maximus. She gets worried that someone will find Rapunzel. She ends her journey and returns to her tower to find that Rapunzel is gone.
While escaping from the guards, Rapunzel and Flynn reach a dam. Maximus causes the dam to collapse and Flynn and Rapunzel get trapped in a flooding cave. Flynn believes that he is about to die and tells her his true name: Eugene Fitzherbert. Rapunzel too admits that she has magic hair that glows when she sings.
Rapunzel uses her power and they both escape from the cave. When Flynn goes to collect firewood, Gothel meets Rapunzel. She tells her that Flynn merely wants the tiara and he doesn’t care for her. Gothel asks Rapunzel to test Flynn by giving the tiara to him.
The next morning, Maximus locates Flynn, but Rapunzel befriends the horse. That night, Flynn takes Rapunzel to see the lanterns. Rapunzel gives Flynn the tiara. Flynn leaves Rapunzel waiting as he goes to return the tiara to the Stabbington brothers. But the brothers tie him up on a boat and sail him across the lake.
The brothers attempt to kidnap Rapunzel but Gothel saves her and they return to the tower. Flynn is arrested and sentenced to death but Maximus brings the inn thugs to rescue Flynn. Maximus and Flynn race back to the tower.
Meanwhile, Rapunzel has realized that she is the lost princess. She tries to flee but Gothel binds her. When Flynn arrives, Gothel stabs him. Rapunzel warns Gothel to let her heal Flynn; otherwise she would keep fighting Gothel. She agrees.
But before Rapunzel can heal Flynn, Gothel cuts Rapunzel’s hair. Her hair loses its power and Gothel rapidly begins to age. She stumbles around the tower when Rapunzel’s pet Chameleon causes her to trip and fall from the tower. Gothel turns to dust before she hits the ground.
Rapunzel is heartbroken as Flynn is slowly dying in her arms. She tearfully sings the incantation. One teardrop lands on Flynn’s cheek and revives him. They embrace and kiss. They return to the kingdom.
Flynn and Rapunzel get married. The Gaul thugs fulfill their dreams. Maximus is now a respected official on the Royal Guard.
