Olivia Party Supplies are based on Olivia, a fictional little pig character. Olivia is an adorable piglet that first appeared in the Olivia series books written and illustrated by Ian Falconer. Ian Falconer was inspired by his niece to write and illustrate the Olivia book series. According to Ian, his life just changed when he first laid eyes on his baby niece. He was entranced by her. He wanted to make a little present for her, so he started working on the Olivia book.
Because of its stark minimalism, Olivia is particularly unique in the world of kid’s picture books. Falconer was very much inspired by the style of Dr. Seuss. So he chose to create uncluttered images in black and white with the occasional splashes of red. In addition to the original black, each book in the Olivia series has also explored the use of another signature color in the red and white images.
