Series History:
Max and Ruby is a Canadian animated cartoon series aimed at a preschool audience. The series is based on Max and Ruby books, created by Rosemary Wells, an illustrator and children’s book author.
The pilot episode of the series was aired in 2001 while the series debuted on October 21, 2002. The Second Season was aired in 2003, Third Season in 2006 and Fouth Season in 2009. The fifth season came out on December 10, 2011.
Voice-Over Artists:
Billy Rosemberg was the voice of Max for the first three seasons. In season four, Tyler Stevenson replaced him. Samatha Morton voiced for Runy for the first two seasons. Rebecca Peters replaced her for third and fourth seasons. Voices of Julie Lemieux, Kay Hawtrey and Katie Griffin have also been used.

Max is a three year old rabbit and is Ruby’s brother. He normally wears a red-striped cream shirt with blue overalls, but sometimes he wears other dresses as well. He always come up with some kind of idea or demand that Ruby would not appreciate. She will try to talk him out of it, but Max would not give up his idea. Ruby would keep on opposing him and Max would start losing hope. But, in the end, Max would somehow outsmart Ruby and her friends. Max is often misinterpreted by others as he keeps on repeating just a word or a phrase during the episode. Morris, Louise’s cousin, is his best friend.
Ruby is Max’s older sister. She is six years old. She is always against the desires of Max, but in the end, Max wins. She is taller than Max. In seasons one and two, she wore yellow dress whereas in seasons three and four, she wore pink dress. She is over-protective towards Max and want him to do what’s best for him according to her. She likes to have parties with her dolls or friends as guests.
Grandma is Max and Ruby’s grandmother who likes to have fun. She has an attic full of clothes. She has a memory picture of herself with her husband and she keeps it in a treasure box. She loves both Max and Ruby, but usually sides with Max. She tells her secrets only to Max and she considers that Max is able to keep a secret.
Morris is Max’s best friend. He is Louise’s cousin. Initially, he was unfriendly towards Max, but later on he became a good friend of Max and acts as his sidekick.
Louise is Ruby’s best friend. She loves going to parties. She wears a green tartan dress. She is slightly taller than Ruby. Mostly, she joins Ruby in her ideas and helps her.
Valerie is one of Ruby’s friends. She is dark brown and shorter than Ruby. She wears a red and gold dress. She loves dancing ballet. She wears glasses.
Martha is Ruby’s friend. She is not seen as often as Ruby’s other friends. She has got eyelashes.
Huffington family consists of Baby Huffington and his parents.
Roger is almost seven and a half years old and treats Max like his little brother.
